Presenting the brand new 2023 Honda HR-V available at your Honda Laval dealer

Small SUVs are more present on the roads and increasingly popular with consumers. Why? Because they are both efficient and economical. Honda understands this reality perfectly and is constantly focusing efforts and innovations in this direction.

One proof of this is the Japanese manufacturer’s big reveal of the future new Honda HRV, coming soon in 2023. Honda Laval, close to Montreal and Terrebonne, tells you everything about it.

Sneak peek

As we’ve seen from early images of the 2023 HR-V SUV, it will definitely be coveted by many. It will boast a more dynamic silhouette and a stunning interior that has gone through a complete makeover. Yet to be published pictures have shown a more athletic build with fluid lines and a very refined interior.

On top of the pictures obtained directly from Honda.ca, the Car Guide and the RPM magazine both show stunning drawings of the all-new Honda SUV. It stands out with its oval-shaped beehive patterned radiator grille, a more aggressive front bumper and a futuristic rear spoiler in a color that contrasts with the top of the tailgate. LED headlights and the stunning taillights both give the Japanese brand even more elegance.

From what we can see, we can tell you that its silhouette will be completely different than that its previous generation, both more streamlined and sportier as well.

Exclusive to the North-American market

Contrary to the European version, the 2023 HR-V will be typically North-American. Moreover, the drawings shown promote an ad where a ski hill takes center stage, clearly taking into account the type of SUV that we, North-Americans, are looking for, in order to best suit our lifestyles.

Moreover, at very first glance, we can clearly see that the new vehicle does not seem to share the European platform. In fact, the new 2023 HR-V is clearly based on the same platform as the Civic, rather than that of the late Honda Fit. All that is left for us to know is if the LX (2AV and 4RM), Sport and Touring versions will also be available or if the Japanese manufacturer will be offering new versions all together. One thing is for sure: the HR-V is already considered a success, given that experts all agree on the fact that it is a very reliable and durable vehicle.

With this newest generation, Honda Canada is aiming to please SUV consumers and boost sales for this type of vehicle. Boasting unique features, the 2023 HR-V will have no problem standing out.

For all of these different reasons and more, the Japanese automobile manufacturer is proud to present this subcompact SUV, which offers undeniable advantages even in a booming and competitive market (the compact and subcompact sports utility vehicles category).

A one of a kind 2023 SUV

Even if we don’t know exactly and officially which engine will take place under the 2023 Honda HR-V hood, here are the two of the options on the table:

  • Firstly, some experts say that the 2023 HRV will keep the same engine, which means a 1.8 L 4- cylinder with 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft. maximum torque.
  • Secondly, other experts claim that the subcompact SUV will probably share the same engine options as the Honda Civic, which means a 2.0 L 4- cylinder with 158 horsepower, or a 1.5 L 4- cylinder with 180 horsepower.

In either case, we know that Japanese engineers precede their reputation and will make the right choice. Although, can we perhaps expect a hybrid version? It wouldn’t be surprising for Honda to offer a hybrid version, especially since the manufacturer has also decided to focus on eMobility in the coming years.

Moreover, we’re shown that the interior of the vehicle will remain elegant and refined, and continue to offer generous cargo space. After all, the new 2022 HR-V SUV, as well as its previous generation, have both clearly demonstrated how easy it is to stow all of your belongings.

In this regard, on April 12th this year, Honda Canada has stated the following in a press release: “Adopting Honda’s new “Simplicity and Something” interior design direction that debuted on the 11th generation Civic, HR-V’s new premium, high-tech cabin is feature-rich and flexible with a bigger back seat, substantially longer cargo area and expansive underfloor storage.”
